    Many North American processors, caught in the middle of the worst recession since the Great Depression, are beating the bush in their search for strategies, ideas or new technology which can help their businesses to survive and hopefully be in position to prosper as markets rebound.

    RFID- (radio frequency identification) enabled badges will allow exhibitors to monitor the “attendee journey” of show visitors through their booths at NPE2009 (June 22-26; McCormick Place, Chicago).

  • Vote online for International Plastics Design Competition
    Organized by the Society of the Plastics Industry’s (SPI; Washington DC) Alliance of Plastics Processors, the first International Plastics Design Competition (IPDC) will be held at NPE 2009. The competition utilizes a website, www.plasticsdesign.org, which allows companies or design professionals to submit required information about their plastic products or components and pay entry fees by the April 1 application deadline.

  • Cost of airfare to Chicago
    If you’re even thinking about attending NPE 2006, a good start is to get to Chicago. We’re keeping tabs on airfares for you. This list shows the cost (U.S. dollars) of a round-trip ticket from several major cities to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (don’t forget that you can fly into Midway Airport as well).   • NPE2009: Entreaties, stimulus entice exhibitors to return
    The announcement of a stimulus package, as well as some globetrotting by Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) president Bill Carteaux, has helped secure two plastics machinery suppliers for this June’s NPE2009, with Nissei and KraussMaffei both now confirmed for SPI's triennial event.
